Our Regenerative Tourism story began in 2001, when I reopened Casa Leonardo. At that time it was not known as Regenerative Tourism, in fact, there was no talk of sustainable or responsible tourism.
I simply reopened it by applying the common sense that my grandparents and elders in my community had taught me.
They taught me valuable lessons that have served me well throughout adulthood:
Be mindful of your spending habits, so you don’t spend more than necessary,
Use resources wisely & Reuse what’s possible.
They already practiced the principles that govern the circular economy.
My grandparents called it common sense and now know them know as the underlying principles of a circular economy. An economy that is less wasteful and polluting, that allows a responsible use of finite resources and that encourages the regeneration of our natural systems. These values may seem old-fashioned and simplistic compared to AI, surgeon robots and Big Data. But I genuinely believe our grandparents’ wisdom can empower us to achieve a better futur for our children.

A lovely, social café and gathering spot. Social hub for the local community and holiday makers alike. Casa Leonardo stays open all- year-round to offer services to our neighborhood. We love hosting meetings of different local groups, digital nomads, … And from spring to autumn we have an open-air terrace next to the river.
Our café CONNECT locals with travellers & travellers with locals through food, beverages and cafes.
Casa Leonardo Café is an ideal start and finish point for our self-guided walks. The walks range from a short stroll next to the rivers, to a more challenging two to four hour hikes that takes you to Cèrvoles, la Casa Encantada, el Pont del Diable o l’estany de Montcortès.
Maps detailing the walks are available free of charge but a donation from walkers is greatly appreciated as all proceeds go directly to supporting Gratitud Pallars project.
